The autumn season of the Romanian football team seems to be the best in recent years. The national team won the first three games played in the Nations League and proved that it is far above the value echelon in which it evolves at European level, which is the third. In Group C3, Romania beat Kosovo 3-0 in September, then beat Lithuania 3-1 at home. Then, in the first game in October, this past Saturday, the tricolours defeated the Cypriot team 3-0 away from home. It was one of the best matches played by Romania in recent times. Several players were singled out by the press, but perhaps the most lauded was Dennis Man. He scored the goal with which Romania opened the scoring in the 16th minute, then, 20 minutes later, he crossed perfectly for Radu Drăguşin, who scored, with a header, his first goal for the National team. For his contribution to Romania’s victory in Cyprus, Radio Romania International designated Dennis Man Athlete of the Week.
Dennis Man was born on August 26, 1998, in western Romania, near Arad, in the Vladimirescu commune, previously known as Glogoveți. He started playing football at the Vladimirescu club, then moved to the Atletico Arad junior team and, finally, to the flagship team of his region, UTA Arad. He made his senior debut with UTA in 2015, three days after he turned 17, in a second league game lost to Gaz Metan Mediaş. In 2016, he had his debut in the first league, under the colours of the FCSB team, in a match with Universitatea Craiova, which they won 2-1. Since 2021, he has played for the Italian team Parma, with whom he entered Serie A this year. In the first stages of the current season, he was one of the best players of his team. He scored in the 1-1 draw with Fiorentina, and in the 2-1 win against Milan. He debuted for the first Romanian national team in March 2018, in a friendly game with Sweden. He has played 31 times for the national team, for which he scored 8 times. (MI)
