2024 European and local elections – exit polls
According to exit polls, in Romania, PNL and PSD, the two parties in power, won the European Parliament elections with 54% of the votes.

ELECTIONS – European and local elections were held in Romania on Sunday. According to the Curs – Avangarde exit polls, made public after the voting, the alliance formed by the two parties in power – the Social Democratic Party and the National Liberal Party – won by a wide margin, of 54%, the European Parliament elections. Next comes the nationalist party AUR (the Alliance for the Union of Romanians) with 14% and ADU (the United Right Alliance) with 11%. The Democratic Union of Ethnic Hungarians in Romania received 5% of the votes. The votes of the diaspora were not taken into account. In the local elections, Nicusor Dan, the mayor in office supported by ADU, won a new mandate for Bucharest, with 45% of the votes, way ahead of his Social-Democratic contender, Gabriela Firea, who only got 24%. Voter turnout for the European Parliament was 52.36%, and for the local elections 49.99%. Romania will be represented in Brussels by 33 MEPs. It’s a busy election year in Romania in 2024, with presidential and parliamentary elections to come next, in September and December, respectively. (EE)
