Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu: We will repeal the Emergency Ordinance

Sorin Grindeanu said the controversial decree, that would have decriminalized some corruption offences, would be repealed on Sunday.
“Tomorrow (Sunday) we will have an emergency government meeting to abrogate the emergency ordinance. We will find the legal way for this emergency ordinance not to come into force, the PM told a press conference, adding that “I dont want to divide Romania. It cant be divided in two.
Over 330,000 people took to the streets of major cities across Romania, in the biggest ralliest since the 1989 Anti-communist Revolution in Romania.
No less than 170,000 protested in front of the Government offices in Victory Square, in Bucharest on Sunday evening. The Romanians in the diaspora also took to the streets to express their solidarity with the Romanians at home.
