This Week ….in your letters
“ Dear friends in Bucharest, I must begin by thanking you for the book about those who have won prizes to visit Romania through your competitions. The book includes my wife and me (another thank you) but is also interesting because of the pictures of listeners to whom I have often heard you refer but never seen (like Martin Rogan). The book has plenty of observations as well as pictures and I have already spent a fair amount of time with it. The whole exercise is so listener appreciative. First you are kind enough to organise the competitions. Then you are even kinder and invite some of us to visit Romania. And then….you print a book with pictures of us and accounts of what we have said and done. Yet another thank you!” (Brian Kendall, UK)

: “ As I have recently retired, I have restarted listening to the shortwaves after an absence of many, many years. To give you some idea, the last time I listened to a Romanian short-wave station it was Radio Bucharest. I have a QSL card from them dated 24th February, 1972! Today is the first time I have listened to one of your broadcasts — I really enjoyed it, it was good to have such a wide variety of content in just one broadcast — it gave a really positive impression of your radio station and your country. ” (Ian McCorquodale of Warwick, UK)
“I am devoted to listening to Radio Romania International. I am always enthusiastic to know what’s occurring in Romania. I would like to thank you for giving me information which is obtained directly from the original sources. I would like to express gratitude and best wishes for the new year”.
