The Romanian national football team ended in a draw, 2-2, the friendly match played on Tuesday, in Netanya, with the Israeli national team. The Romanian Tricolors led the game up until the break, thanks to the goals scored by Alexandru Cicâldău, in the 10th minute, and Dennis Man, in the 23rd minute. The hosts played better in the second half of the game and Munas Dabbur scored in the 56th and 85th minutes. The match in Netaya was the second in the training session held ahead of the Nations League games, scheduled for early summer.

We recall that on Friday, in Bucharest, coach Edward Iordănescus players had been defeated by Greece, 1-nil. In Israel, the Romanian squad played better than in the confrontation with the Greek national team, but again, they unjustifiably missed good opportunities to score. This time, too, there were moments of inconsistent defense, as a result of which the Romanian national team failed to score its first victory under the helm of coach Iordănescu.
The Nations League games are coming up next. On June 4, Romania will play away from home with Montenegro, then on the 7th, with Bosnia and Herzegovina. The next two matches will be played on home turf, on June 11, with the Finnish team, then on the 14th, the return of the confrontation with Montenegro.The Romanian youth team, made up of players under 21, ended in a draw, 2 to 2, the game played in Salé against the Moroccan youth team. Dragoş Albu made it through the home teams defense 28 minutes into the match. The host team had a comeback in the second part of the game, with Chadi Riad Dnanou scoring in the 70th minute and El Mehdi Maouhoub four minutes later. The final score was set by Daniel Birligea, in the 79th minute.
On Friday, Romania had defeated Finland in Ploieşti with the score of 2 to1. Next year, Romania and Georgia will host the final tournament of the European Championship for players under 21, both teams being directly qualified as organizers. (MI)
