This coming Sunday in Bucharest, Romania’s national
men’s handball team faces Kossovo. A Group 8 match, the fixture counts towards
the second round of the 2022 World Championship preliminaries. Romania’s
national squad is in dire need of a win as this past Wednesday in Kossovo they
only succeeded a draw, 23-all. Sweden is at the top of the table in Group 8,
with 6 points, followed by Romania, with 3, Montenegro, with 2 and Kossovo, with
1 point. The first two teams in each group and the best four 3rd-placed
teams secure their ticket to the final tournament.
This coming weekend sees matches being played,
counting towards League One’s 27th round. On Friday, Gaz Metan
Mediaș faces Universitatea Craiova. On Saturday, Academica Clinceni plays a
home match against FC Voluntari. In Medias, western Romania, FC Hermannstadt is
pitted against Viitorul Constanța. In Arad, the local team UTA plays FCSB. In Buzau on Sunday, Chindia Targoviste takes
on Astra Giurgiu and CFR Cluj plays a home match against Poli Iași. On Monday, FC
Botoșani is pitted against Sepsi Sfântu Gheorghe, while Dinamo Bucharest faces FC
Argeș. With a similar number of points, 57, FCSB and CFR Cluj are at the top of
the table, while Universitatea Craiova is the runner-up team, with 5 points.
