On Saturday in Group D, the trophy holder Sport Club Municipal Craiova lost 32:21 to Bera Bera in an away match in Irun, in Spain. On Sunday in Group A, Magura Cisnadie lost at home 20:34 to the German side Bietigheim.

TENNIS- The main draw matches have kicked off at the Australian Open, the first Grand Slam tournament of the year. The Romanian player Irina Begu qualified on Monday to the second round, following the withdrawal of the German player Andrea Petkovic, who was leading by one set. Two other Romanian players, Sorana Cirstea and Monica Niculescu, were eliminated in the first round. Cirstea lost to the Swedish player Rebecca Peterson 6-4, 6-1, while Niculescu lost to the young American player Amanda Anisimova, 7-6, 6-4.
FOOTBALL – Universitatea Craiova defeated the Turkish second-tier side Adana Demirspor 2-1 on Sunday in the first match of their training campaign in Antalya. Andrei Cristea and Valentin Mihaila scored for Universitatea and the Polish player Jakub Kosecki for the Turkish side. Also in Turkey, Dinamo Bucharest lost to the Croatian side Hajduk Split 2-nil. Mijo Caktas and Adam Gyurcso scored the winning goals for Split. Another Romanian side training in Antalya, Dunarea Calarasi drew 1-all with the German third-tier side Krefelder Fußballclub Uerdingen 05. The Senegalese player Mediop Ndiaye opened the score for the Romanian side, who are managed by Dan Alexa, while Christopher Schorch scored the equalising goal for Uerdingen.
