The football side PAOK Thessaloniki, coached by Razvan Lucescu, defeated Spartak Moscow at home, 3-2. The match counted towards the first leg of the Champions League third preliminary round. The Russians had a 2-nil lead, but the Greek side made a spectacular comeback to win 3-2. On minute 71, Spartak missed a penalty kick.
Also in Champions League. Razvan Marin was one of the best players on the pitch for his team, Standard Liege, in the match against Ajax Amsterdam. Played in Belgium, the match ended 2-all.
