Claudiu Keseru scored a goal for his club, Ludogoretz Razgrad of Bulgaria in the 7-nil win against Crusaders Belfast of Northern Ireland, played on home turf in the first leg of the first preliminary round of Champions League. Keseru scored the third goal on minute 53 and was substituted on minute 68. The other Romanian playing for Ludogoretz, Cosmin Moti, played for the entire duration of the match. The return leg is scheduled for July 17 in Belfast.

Romanian football team Gaz Metan Medias lost to Javor Ivanjica of Serbia 3-1 in the last game of its training stage in Serbia. The team from Medias reported a total of three losses and two wins this training season. In the first game Gaz Metan won 1-nil against Spartak Subotica, then lost nil-1 to Zemun Belgrade. The Romanian footballers then grabbed a 2-nil win against Mladost Lucani, which was followed by two losses: 1-3 against Mordovia Saransk and 1-3 against Javor Ivanjica.
Poli Iasi drew 2-all against Traktor Sazi of Iran, as part of its training stage in Turkey. Scoring for the Romanian side were Vlad Danale and Andrei Cristea.
In Austria, Sepsi Sfantu Gheorghe lost to Zlate Moravce of Slovakia 1-nil. On July 13 Sepsi will play its last friendly game against Russia’s Orenburg, as part of its training stage in Austria.
We end with news from women’s football. Romanian player Stefania Vatafu was signed by Belgium’s champions Anderlecht Brussels. Last season Vatafu competed for Tenerife of Spain, with which she ranked fourth in Primera Division, following Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao. Anderlecht has been drawn in preliminary group 3 of UEFA Women’s Champions League, alongside Glasgow City of Scotland, Gornik Leczna of Poland and Martve of Georgia.
