Romanian
athletes grabbed one gold, one silver and three bronze medals at the 11th
edition of the European Aerobic Gymnastics Championship held in Baku,
Azerbaijan. Andreea Bogati, Dacian Barna, Gabriel Bocser, Mihai Popa, Marian
Brotei won gold in the group event. Romania won silver in the team event, after
Russia and Hungary. In the aerobic dance final, Bianca Becze, Sandra Dinca,
Izabela Dumitrascu, Szofia Meszar, Teea Milea, Sarmiza Niculescu, Flavia Dentar
and Steliana Stoenescu grabbed bronze. In the mixed pair event, Andreea Bogati
and Dacian Barna grabbed bronze. Finally, in the trio event, Andreea Bogati,
Marian Brotei and Mihai Popa also grabbed bronze. At the same time, Baku played
host to the European Aerobic Gymnastics Championships for cadets, where Romania
grabbed a total of five medals, 3 silver and two bronze.
FC Viitorul Constanta
has for the first time won the Romanian Cup, after winning 2-1 against Astra
Giurgiu after extra time. Scoring for Astra was Denis Alibec on minute 41, but
Viitorul evened the odds in the second half, Virgil Ghita scoring on minute 76.
The winning goal was scored by Eric De Oliveria in the second half of extra
time. With this win Viitorul Constanta has secured qualification in the second
round of Europa League, alongside FCSB and Universitatea Craiova.

from football, Dunarea Calarasi lost nil-1 to Gaz Metan Medias and Concordia
Chiajna trounced Politehnica Iasi 4-1 on Sunday in the last but one round of the
group phase in Group 2. On Monday, FC Voluntari will play
FC Hermannstadt Sibiu while FC Botosani will take on Dinamo Bucharest.
Concordia Chiajna has been relegated to League Two.
CSM Stiinta Baia
Mare has won the rugby championship after defeating CSA Steaua Bucharest 24-22
on Saturday in the Super League final played in Barlad. This is the sixth title
for Stiinta, the last one being in 2014.
