First government meeting to be held on Wednesday, Romania foreign minister to pay a visit to Moldova

Government meeting — The new Liberal cabinet led by Ludovic Orban will hold a first government meeting on Wednesday. According to the PM, high on the meeting agenda of talks is, among others, an emergency decree on cutting down on the number of ministries. The 16 members of the cabinet on Tuesday took over the ministries they will lead after the new government was invested by Parliament. Ludovic Orban promised that the executive would be open for permanent dialogue and would take into account Romanians’ expectations. The Liberal government replaces the former Social Democratic government headed by Viorica Dancila which was dismissed on October 10 through a no confidence motion.
Talks — The Romanian foreign minister Bogdan Aurescu on Tuesday had a phone conversation with the minister of foreign affairs and European integration of the Republic of Moldova, Nicolae Popescu. According to a foreign ministry communiqué, the two officials reviewed current aspects of bilateral cooperation within the two countries’ strategic partnership for Moldova’s European Integration, which needs to be further developed. Bogdan Aurescu was invited by his Moldovan counterpart to pay a visit to Chisinau in the coming period.
Tennis — The pair made up of the Romanian Horia Tecau and the Dutch Jean-Julien Rojer will play in the Max Mirnîi group in the ATP Champions Tour in London to be held between November 10 and 17, according to the drawing of lots organized on Tuesday. The Romanian — Dutch pair seeded 6th will play against the top seeded Colombian pair Juan Sebastian Cabal/Robert Farah, the German pair Kevin Krawietz/Andreas Mies, 3rd seeded, and the French pair Pierre-Hugues Herbert/Nicolas Mahut, seeded 7th. Tecau and Rojer are participating for the 4th time in the Champions Tour, which they won in 2015 when they also ended the year on top position of the ATP ranking. The two previously played in the 2014 and 2017 Champions Tours.
