This Week… in Your Letters
Excerpts from some of the letters and messages sent in by RRI's listeners
România Internațional, 25.06.2017, 11:16
This was the first time ever I
picked up Radio Romania International. I was quite pleased that I managed to
pick up any sort of signal over that distance. I try to pick up stations on
short-wave as a hobby and I try to see how far away of stations I can pick up.
(Gabriel Carriere, Canada)
I have listened on
and off to this programme for a few months have found it a very informative
insight into the current affairs of Romania. […] I really appreciate your
broadcasting this to Western Europe when many other stations have stopped and I
hope that you will continue. (Jamie Maclauchlan, UK)
I am listening to you online
frequently, but as a shortwave listener and DXer, it’s a pleasure listening to
my favourite station on short-waves only. (Prithwiraj Purkayastha, India)
I work onboard ships in the
merchant navy and have visited the port of Constanta in the Black Sea on
several occasions. Constanta is a beautiful place with interesting
architecture. (Jawahar Almeida, USA)
I really enjoyed listening to
interesting topics on the European film festival, the Culture Palace in Blaj,
city pollution in Romania and wonderfull jazz songs. I am especially interested
in one of the topics, the Cultural Palace in Blaj, which was renovated a few
years ago after a devastating fire in 1995. I saw the architecture of the
building on the internet and found it greatly succeeded with minimum
interventions. (Koji Nakayama, Japan)
In addition to the culture, music and
news programmes, I find the history programme fascinating. I enjoy hearing how
life was during the communist years. (Richard Nowak, USA)
