Earlier this
month, Bucharest played host to the launch of the project Promise – protecting
the unaccompanied migrant minors.
The project is co-run
by Terre des Hommes Foundation in cooperation with the Jesuit Refugee Service
(JRS) Romania. It is the recipient of a 150-thousand-EUR grant under the Active
Citizens Fund Romania programme, funded by y Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway as
part of the EEA Grants 2014-2021 framework.
The project
seeks to improve the access of migrant minors and young people to basic rights
and public services across Romania, by providing them with legal assistance,
vocational support and boosting their access to basic education, as well as by
helping them better represent their communities and improve dialogue with
public authorities, policies and legislation.
