Radio Romania Music Awards Gala
One of the well-established and most popular Romanian soloists, and also a composer and actress, Loredana has been named “Artist of the year 2013” at the 12th edition of Radio Romania Music Awards, in a gala held on Sunday. Both excited and honoured to have been awarded this prize by Radio Romania’s listeners, Loredana said, “Music is my life, music is my destiny, and this award proves I have chosen the best possible path in life: the path to your hearts”. Loredana was also awarded the prize for best duo, alongside Cornel Ilie, for their song “I Don’t Know Who You Are”.

A total of 17 prizes were awarded for several genres and sections, for the best performances in pop, folk, pop-dance and pop-rock last year. Special guests, including artists, composers and leading figures of Romanian music came on stage to award the prizes.
The Romanian band Vama grabbed the award for “Best song of 2013” for their song “Perfect Without You”. Elena Gheorghe and Glance’s “Echo” scooped the award for best pop song, while “Flavour”, a song performed by DJ Sava and Raluka, won the award for best pop-dance song.
Andra was designated best pop soloist, while her latest album “Inevitably, everything will be alright” was named best pop album. Smiley won the awards for best pop singer and best message, for his song “Home”.
The Romanian band Holograf walked home with the awards for best pop-rock artist and best pop-rock song for their song “Morning dew”. The award for best folk album went to Nicu Alifantis and “Mozaic”. The artist also grabbed the “Man with the Guitar” award. The prize for best folk song went to Vasile Seicaru’s “Feelings”.
15-year-old Nicole Cherry won the award for best debut in 2013, while 13-year-old Vanessa Marzavan scooped the Radio Junior award. Laurentiu Duta was designated best composer. A special lifetime achievement award went to composer Jolt Kerestely, who also received a standing ovation. His special guest was Marcel Pavel, who offered the audience a treat, performing one of Kerestely’s best-known songs, “The Tree”.
The awards gala ended with a live concert performed by Loredana, accompanied by her band “Agurida.”
