In a declaration to the press on Monday evening, the Romanian interior minister, Marcel Vela, said “The severest crisis over the past decades has taken Romania in its grip. As many as 186 new cases were reported in a single day.
The interior minister underlined that tougher measures are being taken to protect those at risk. “I assure those on lockdown or under stay-at-home order that we address them as our parents, grandparents or sons. I assure you that it depends on us all to successfully overcome the crisis. The new restrictions take effect as of tomorrow.
Vela urged also those who are not aware of the danger, to wake up, because we do not play with public health. “There are still many Romanians who are unaware of the danger they expose themselves to and expose the others to.
According
to Vela, the movement of all persons outside their homes will be forbidden once the Military Ordinance issued on March 24 is enforced, with a few exceptions.

cannot be postponed or remotely ensured, for other justified reasons, such as
child care, to provide assistance to
elderly, ill or disabled persons, in the event of the death of a family member,
or for short walks, in the close proximity of one’s home, in relation with physical individual activity of persons and the needs of pets.
Exception to the rule are also those going to donate
blood, involved in humanitarian or volunteer work, those carrying out farming
activities or farmers going to
trade farm produce.

forbidden.
