Romania’s national rugby team in Lisbon on Saturday
takes up the similar team of Portugal. The fixture counts towards the 2021
edition of the Rugby Union Championship’s second round. We recall that last
week, in the competition’s first round, Romania sustained a 13 to 18 defeat by
Russia. On March 20, 2021, Romania faces Spain in Bucharest. The 2021 and 2022
editions of the Rugby Europe Championship also count towards qualifying to the
2023 edition of the World Cup, to be held in France. According to the
competition’s regulations the first two teams in descending order qualify
straight to the final tournament with the 3rd-placed team goes into
rechapage.

This coming Sunday in Bucharest, Romania’s national
men’s handball team faces Kossovo. A Group 8 match, the fixture counts towards
the second round of the 2022 World Championship preliminaries. Romania’s
national squad is in dire need of a win as this past Wednesday in Kossovo they
only succeeded a draw, 23-all. Sweden is at the top of the table in Group 8,
with 6 points, followed by Romania, with 3, Montenegro, with 2 and Kossovo, with
1 point. The first two teams in each group and the best four 3rd-placed
teams secure their ticket to the final tournament.

This coming weekend sees matches being played,
counting towards League One’s 27th round. On Friday, Gaz Metan
Mediaș faces Universitatea Craiova. On Saturday, Academica Clinceni plays a
home match against FC Voluntari. In Medias, western Romania, FC Hermannstadt is
pitted against Viitorul Constanța. In Arad, the local team UTA plays FCSB. In Buzau on Sunday, Chindia Targoviste takes
on Astra Giurgiu and CFR Cluj plays a home match against Poli Iași. On Monday, FC
Botoșani is pitted against Sepsi Sfântu Gheorghe, while Dinamo Bucharest faces FC
Argeș. With a similar number of points, 57, FCSB and CFR Cluj are at the top of
the table, while Universitatea Craiova is the runner-up team, with 5 points.
