Romania’s handball sides have learnt their opponents in the following Champions League season after the lots drawing ceremony in Vienna on Thursday.
So, in women’s competitions, where Romania is being represented by three sides, two of these, namely CSM Bucharest and Gloria Bistrita will be playing in Group A. Their opponents are Hungarian side Ferencvaros, Metz of France, Krim Ljublijana of Slovenia, Storhamar of Norway, Nykøbing Falster of Denmark and the Croatian side Podravka Koprivnica.
Rapid Bucharest will be playing in Group B, together with Hungarian side Győr, the Norwegians from Vipers Kristiansand, Danish sides Esbjerg and Odense, with Buducnost Podgorica of Montenegro and the German side Ludwigsburg, formerly known as Bietigheim. The group also includes the French side Brest Bretagne.
In men’s contests Dinamo Bucharest will be playing in Group A together with
Wisla Plock of Poland, Paris Saint-Germain, Sporting Lisabona, with the Danish side Fredericia, Veszprem of Hungary, Fuchse Berlin and Bitola of North-Macedonia. The group’s matches are to kick off in September.
However, the most important sporting event of these days is still the European Football Championships with the round of 16 scheduled to kick off on Saturday.
We remind you that Romania will be up against the Netherlands in Munich on Tuesday. Seven thousand tickets have been reserved for the Romanian football fans, although the Romanian Football Federation is holding talks with UEFA to double the number.
According to the UEFA procedures, in the following period all those who bought at least one ticket for the matches in the group, are to receive a notification mail from UEFA allowing their purchase of four more tickets.
They will have 24 hours to purchase their tickets and the remaining ones will be made available on the UEFA ticket web page. Until the match against the Netherlands, the Romanian side is training in Würzburg, Bavaria.
