In womens handball, let us note that this weekend will see matches in European inter-club competitions. In Champions League, on Sunday, CSM Bucharest is playing Esbjerg of Denmark in Group A at home. Esbjerg is first in the group tables with 22 points, whereas CSM is in 5th place with 14 points.
In the EHF European League, on Saturday, in Group B, Minaur Baia Mare will take on Bietigheim of Germany at home. Minaur is second in the group tables and needs a win if it is to advance to the quarterfinals. Also on Saturday, Măgura Cisnădie is playing Herning Ikast of Denmark at home in Group C. Măgura is ranked 3rd in the group with 4 points, the same as Storhamar of Norway in second place. On Sunday, SCM Râmnicu Vâlcea will play Vác of Hungary away from home. SCM has already secured 2nd place in the group tables, which qualifies the team directly to the quarterfinals.
