football champions CFR Cluj are the leaders of the Romanian First Football
League at the end of round 20. On Thursday, Dan Petrescu’s trainees won 2-0
against Farul Constanța away from home. FCSB are in runner-up position, 8
points behind CFR, after Wednesday’s win 3-1 against Bucharest rivals Rapid.
Let us also note the other results of the 20th round. Both matches
played on Tuesday, namely Academica Clinceni versus FC Voluntari and
Universitatea Craiova versus UTA Arad ended in blank draws. On Wednesday, FC
Botoșani won 2-1 against Gaz Metan Mediaș at home, while in Pitești, the local
side, FC Argeș drew 1-1 against Sepsi Sfântu Gheorghe. On Thursday, in Ploiești,
FCU Craiova won 3-0 against Chindia Târgoviște, whereas CS Mioveni won 2-1 against
Dinamo Bucharest one home turf.

This weekend
will see matches counting towards the 21st round, the last scheduled

will go up against FC Botoșani on National Arena Stadium. On Sunday, Academica
Clinceni will play Chindia Târgoviște, CFR Cluj will play FC Argeș, and Sepsi
Sfântu Gheorghe will play FCSB. The last two matches of the round are scheduled
for Monday: FCU Craiova will take on CS Mioveni, while Dinamo Bucharest will
play Farul Constanța. The domestic championship will resume Friday, January 21,
