This
weekend will seethe games of the
European women’s handball competitions. In the Champions League SCM Ramnicu
Valcea takes on Russian side CSKA Moscow in a Group B home match. The Romanian
champions are currently ranking sixth in the group with four points out of 8
games, while the Russians are third with 15 points out of 9 matches. The
Hungarian champions, Gyor, top the group’s table with 17 points out of 10
matches without defeat in this edition of the aforementioned competition.
Before their game with CSKA, Romanian side SCM obtained two consecutive
wins.
Now
let’s have a look at the situation in the Champions League’s Group A. The match
the Romanians from CSM Bucharest had to play against Russian side Rostov-Don on
Saturday has been postponed because of the Coronavirus infections in the
Russian side. CSM has lost its latest three matches including the return
against Rostov and comes fourth in the group with 11 points out of 10 games.
Rostov-Don tops the table with 15 points out of 9 matches.
This
weekend will be seeing the matches counting towards the 18th leg of
Romania’s first football league. Two matches have been scheduled for Friday
when Chindia Targoviste takes on Academica Clincheni and FCSB plays FC
Voluntari. Three matches are due on Saturday: Sepsi Sfantu Gheorghe plays Astra
Giurgiu in a home match, UTA, on their own turf, takes on FC Arges, while
Universitatea Craiova is up at home against Viitorul Constanta.
On
Sunday in Medias, local side Gaz Metan is playing Poli Iasi, while FC Botosani
plays at home Dinamo Bucharest. Monday will see the leg’s last game when FC
Hermannstadt plays CFR Cluj. FCSB ranks first in the standings with 38 points
followed by CFR with 37.
