Matches counting towards the 18th round of the domestic League One championship were played on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. On Tuesday, FC Voluntari grabbed a 2-nil home win against FC Hermannstadt, while CFR Cluj overpowered Dinamo Bucharest away from home, 3-nil. On Wednesday in the western Romanian town of Medias, the local side Gaz Metan were held to a 2-all draw by Viitorul Constanta, then in Sfantu Gheorghe, the local side Sepsi outclassed FCSB, 4-2. This past Thursday saw all three Romanian teams emerging as winners in their fixtures away from home. In a real Danube derby, Astra Giurgiu defeated Dunarea Calarasi, 2-1. Then in a major confrontation pitting two Moldavian League One teams against each other, Poli Iasi defeated AFC Botosani 2-1, away from home. This past Thursdays last game was the one in the southern Romanian town of Chiajna, pitting the local side Concordia against Universitatea Craiova, with the latter team securing a 3-1 win.



Friday is a day off for the regular League One games, but this coming Sunday will see matches being played, counting towards the 19th round of the domestic championship. In Targu Mures, FC Hermannstadt face Dinamo Bucharest. Then in Cluj-Napoca, CFR take on Gaz Metan Medias. Three matches are scheduled for Sunday. In Iasi, the local side Poli receives the visit of Dunarea Calarasi. Then in Giurgiu, Astra takes on Concordia Chiajna. The closing match of the day will be played in Pitesti, when FCSB are pitted against Viitorul Constanta. The last matches of round 19 are scheduled this coming Monday, when Sepsi Sfantu Gheorghe face AFC Botosani, while Universitatea Craiova play FC Voluntari. CFR Cluj are the leader in the standings, with 39 points. FCSB are the runner-up team, with 34, while 3rd-placed are Universitatea Craiova, with 32.



Romanias capital city Bucharest is these days playing host to two important judo competitions: The Champions league and the Europe League, both mens and womens. More than 400 judoka will prove their mettle in the competition, and 4 Romanian teams take part in the event. Fighting in the mens version of the Champions League is CSM Bucharest, while U CSM Dinamo Cluj-Napoca compete in the womens version of the same competition. Competing in both mens and womens version of the Europe League are CSM CSU Pitesti and SCM Deva, respectively.
