In with womens handball, Champions League matches are resuming this weekend. In the first leg of the quarterfinals, the Romanian side CSM Bucharest will be facing the Russian side CSKA Moscow at home on Saturday, while the Montenegrin side Buducnost Podgorica will be receiving the Hungarian side Györ, also on Saturday. Sunday will see an all-French quarterfinal between Brest Bretagne and Metz Handball. The rest of the quarterfinal matches will be played next Saturday, with Norways Vipers Kristiansand taking on Russias Rostov-Don.
We stay with European womens handball to note that the Romanian sides Minaur Baia Mare and Dunărea Brăila will be facing each other on Saturday in the second leg of the European League. A week ago in Brăila, Minaur won convincingly against the local side, 31-24 and are now favourites to advance to the competitions semifinals.
Were going to end this preview with football. The 29th leg of the domestic First League is scheduled this weekend. On Friday, Academica Clinceni are playing Politehnica Iași and Gaz Metan Mediaș are playing Astra Giurgiu. On Saturday, FC Hermannstadt are facing FC Argeș at home. Sunday will see three matches: FC Botoșani are playing Viitorul Constanța at home; UTA Arad are playing Sepsi Sfântu Gheorghe at home; and FCSB are facing Universitatea Craiova at the National Arena later in the day, in the legs most anticipated match. On Monday, Chindia Târgoviște will be facing FC Voluntari in Buzău, where the team from Târgoviște are currently playing their home matches. The final match of the leg will see CFR Cluj take on Dinamo Bucharest at home. FCSB top the current ranking with 63 points, followed by CFR Cluj, with 60 points and Universitatea Craiova, with 56.
