Head-coach Dan Petrescus contract with CFR Cluj has been terminated, by mutual consent. We recall that, with Dan Petrescu at the helm, in recent years CFR Cluj has dominated Romanian football. However, In 2023, CFR came in 3rd in the Superleague and had to play a playoff game against FC U Craiova to secure a ticket for Europa Conference League. The Italian Cristiano Bergodi is the favourite for the position of head-coach. We recall Bergodi had been at the helm of CFR Cluj before, for the 2006-2007 competition season.
