Romania’s handball side Dinamo
Bucureşti is very close to qualification for the Champions League play-off. The
Romanian side ended in a 31-all draw the game they played against their
Hungarian opponent Veszprém. Ukrainian Andrii Akimenko scored most of the goals
for Dinamo, seven.
After the game, Veszprem lost
their first position in the Group A ranking. Four legs before the final
matches, Dinamo ranks fourth in the group with 11 points. The sides ranking
third, fourth, fifth and sixth have qualified for the play-offs and the
Romanian side can be only theoretically outperformed by Wisla Plock, currently
ranking seventh. We recall that Wisla with five points have lost both matches
against the Romanian side. After a break the competition is to resume on
February 8th, when Dinamo take on FC Porto in an away game. FC Porto
is presently ranking last in the group.
CFR Cluj on Thursday secured a 1-0
win in the derby of the Romanian Football Superleague against FCSB. Rangelo
Janga scored for the champs in the 69th minute of the game. The game
on Thursday was a remaining match of the championships’ 9th leg. CFR
are presently boasting 44 points, same as the leader Farul Constanta, but they
are ranking second with a lower goal average. Rapid Bucharest come in third
with 37 points while FCSB fourth with 35 with the same number of points as
Universitatea Craiova
This weekend will be seeing the
games counting towards the 21st leg of the Superleague, the last
this year. On Friday FC Voluntari takes on Farul Constanta, while on Saturday,
Sepsi take on Universitatea Cluj in a home game, while Universitatea Craiova on
their own turf play Chindia Targoviste. On Sunday, in Pitesti, local side FC
Arges are up against CS Mioveni, while in Ploieşti, southern Romania, local
side Petrolul take on FC U Craiova. On Monday the National Arena in Bucharest
hosts the match pitching FC Botoşani against local side FCSB. The leg’s last
game will take place on Tuesday when CFR Cluj play Hermannstadt.
