Romania lost a friendly match against Slovenia’s national football squad on Thursday evening, 1-2. The match, played in Cluj, started better for the Slovenians, who scored twice in the first half. Benjamin Sesko and Andraz Sporar were the goal getters, in minute 26 and 31 respectively, while Denis Dragus scored for Romania in minute 63. Romania’s lineup included several debutants who replaced the absentees. Romania ranks 53rd in the FIFA’s rankings, while Slovenia is ten places behind. On Sunday, Romania’s national squad will be up against Moldova on the Zimbrul stadium in the capital Chisinau. The match’s referees will be from Turkey.
On Saturday, Romania’s national rugby side will play on the Triumphal Arch stadium in Bucharest their last test-match this year. The Romanians, who rank 20th in the world, will be up against Samoa, who are eight positions ahead. This is the third match between the two teams, the previous ones being won by Romania: 32-24 in a game played in 1989 in Bucharest and 17-13 in 2017, also in Bucharest. In the other two friendly matches of November, Romania beat Chile, 30-23 and lost to Uruguay, 16-21. In the opening of the match between Romania and Samoa the national teams of Tonga and Uruguay will be up against each other.
We switch to ice hockey as Sapientia U23 Cluj is up against Sportul studentesc. The second match between these two teams and the one pitting SC Miercurea Ciuc against CSM Galati will be held on Sunday. SCSH Gheorgheni is top of the table with 26 points, followed by CSM Galati with 22 points and Háromszéki Ágyúsok with 18 points. (EE)
