Romanian driver of Italian extraction Simone Tempestini on Saturday
won the Arges Rally Race, the first leg of the National Rally Championship. The
team made up of Simone Tempestini and Sergiu Itu on Skoda Fabia was followed by
Dan Gîrtofan and Tudor Mârza, also driving a Skoda Fabia. Third came Valentin Porcişteanu and Dan Dobre
on Mitsubishi Lancer. Tempestini and Itu have for the second year in a row won
the Arges Rally Race.






At the top of Romania’s first football
league, several sides are fighting for the title of champion whereas others at
the bottom of the table are struggling to avoid demotion. On Sunday, Universitatea
Craiova secured a 3-2 win away against CFR Cluj.






Bosnian
Elvir Koljic put the visitors in the lead on the 9th minute firing
home from outside the box. Valentin Mihaila lobbed CFR’s goalie Giderius
Arlauskis making it 2-0 for the visitors on 55 minutes. Ciprian Chiriac managed
a superb goal for the hosts on the 60th minute and Paulo Vinicius
reduced from the difference with a header ten minutes later.


Alexandru
Cicaldau sealed the points for Craiova who have thus managed their third
consecutive win with Cristiano Bergodi as trainer. They are now one point less
than the leader, CFR Cluj.




On Friday FC
Botosani clinched a 2-0 away win against Gaz Metan Medias.


Dinamo București is currently at the bottom
of the table after a new defeat on their own ground in the sixth leg. FC
Voluntari secured a 1-0 victory against them through a goal scored by Ion Gheorghe in the 75th
minute.






Also on
Friday Academica Clinceni outperformed FC Hermannstadt 1-0 on the latter’s own
turf. On Saturday, in Ploiești, southern Romania, Chindia Târgoviște lost to Politehnica
Iași 0-2 but the day’s most spectacular game was in Sfântu Gheorghe central
Romania, where local side Sepsi and Viitorul Constanța ended their match in a
3-all draw.
