Women’s
handball. The Romanian side SCM Râmnicu Vâlcea lost to the Montenegrin side Buducnost
Podgorica, 29-28, on Saturday, in a Champions League Group B match. SCM Râmnicu
Vâlcea, who were without six key players and their main coach Florentin Pera,
put on a remarkable performance and were very close to winning their first
point in this edition of the competition, but missed a chance to score the
equalising goal in the very last seconds of the match. SCM Râmnicu Vâlcea will next
be playing BV Borussia 09 Dortmund, on 22nd November, also away.
CSM
Bucharest drew 22-all against the Slovenian side RK Krim Mercator Ljubljana in
a home match on Saturday in the Champions League Group A. CSM, whose star
player Cristina Neagu was on the substitute bench for this match, had a
lacklustre performance. The end of the match was very dramatic, as both teams
had chances to score the winning goal. CSM Bucharest will next be facing Rostov
on Don on 19th November at home in a rescheduled third leg match.
In
the first leg of the EHF European League third preliminary round, SCM Gloria

We’re
now going to bring you the latest in men’s volleyball. CSM Arcada Galaţi failed
to make it to the Champions League group stage, having lost to the Polish side Jastrzebski
Wegiel 3-nil in the competition’s second preliminary round. Arcada will still

Volley, in the round of last 32.
We’re
going to end this roundup with football. The match between Romania and Norway
due to take place on Sunday on the National Arena in Bucharest as part of Nations
League B Group 1, was cancelled as the Norwegian side was quarantined following
a positive test. In another group match, Austria defeated Northern Ireland 2-1.
Romania will be playing Northern Ireland on Wednesday in Belfast in the last
leg of the group. Without the result of the Romania vs Norway match, Austria
are now in the first place in the group with 12 points, followed by Norway with
9 points, Romania with 4 points and Northern Ireland with 1 point.
