In group C, SCM Ramnicu Valcea lost
to Buducnost Podgorica of Montenegro 19-23. The Romanian champions are ranking
third in the group with only 2 points. Brest Bretagne ranks first with 6 points
followed by Buducnost with 4.
In the EHF Cup, Corona Brasov
conceded a 32-33 defeat to Bera Bera of San Sebastian but has qualified for the
competition’s next stage thanks to the 35-30 home win last week. Another
Romanian side Magura Cisnadie lost their away match to Ukrainian side
Galychanka 14-19, but have qualified on aggregate as they won the first match
at home 31-23.
In men’s handball competitions,
Romanian side Dinamo Bucharest ended in a 26-all draw their away game against
Polish side Wisla Plock in the Champions League’s Group D. Nicusor Negru scored
five goals for the Romanian side during the match. In the other group’s
matches, Swedish side Kristianstad clinched a 36-28 win against Cehovskie
Medvedi, while Danish side Gudme defeated Kadetten Schaffhausen of Switzerland
35-30.
With no defeat so far Dinamo is
currently ranking first in the group followed by Gudme with the same number of
points, eight, but with a lower goal average.
Romanian ice hokey side Sport Club
Miercurea Ciuc have consolidated their leading position in the regional Erste
competition after a 5-2 win against Ujpest in Budapest on Sunday. Sport Club
ranks first in the standings with 36 points followed by Ferencvaros Budapest
with 29.
