Romania’s national football team in Ploiesti this past Sunday grabbed a 3-nil win in the match against Lithuania. On condition that Serbia secures its direct qualification in the European Championship at the end of the qualifying round, as a runner-up team Romania is officially entitled to continue its fight for the qualification to the Euro 2020. Lithuania was relegated to Series D in the wake of their defeat against Romania. On Tuesday Lithuania will take on Serbia in Belgrade.

This is the Unites States’ 7th win against Romania, in 9 games played. The Unites States also walked away with the Pershing Cup, a trophy offered by the Romanian Rugby Federation as of 2014, for the matches pitting Romania’s national squad against the US.

On Sunday, CSM Bucharest secured a position in the Challenge Cup’s round of 16, having secured a home win against Cypriot opponents Parnassos Strovolou, 47-14. The Romanian domestic championship’s current leader CSM Ramnicu Valcea has sustained a double-legged defeat by Danish challengers Ikast, 22-16 away and 21-19 on home court, this past Sunday in Valcea.
