The Romanian -
Dutch pair made up of Horia Tecau and Jean-Julien Rojer has succeeded its first
win in 2019. Tecau and Rojer defeated the Georgian – Australian pair made up of
Nikoloz Basilashvili and Matthew Ebden, 6-3, 6-4, in the first round of the
men’s doubles at the ATP Rotterdam tournament, an event with 1, 961,160 Euro in
prize money.

The Romanian -
Dutch pair made up of Horia Tecau and Jean-Julien Rojer has succeeded its first
win in 2019. Tecau and Rojer defeated the Georgian – Australian pair made up of
Nikoloz Basilashvili and Matthew Ebden, 6-3, 6-4, in the first round of the
men’s doubles at the ATP Rotterdam tournament, an event with 1, 961,160 Euro in
prize money.
Tecău and Rojer
have received a cheque of more than 16 thousand Euros and 90 ATP points in the
doubles rankings. In their next match, Tecau and Rojer will take on Dutch -
Austrian pair made up of Wesley Koolhof and Jurgen Melzer.
Now it’s news from
men’s handball, as Romania’s champions Dinamo Bucharest this past Wednesday secured
a 28-20 home win against CSM Bucharest, in a pending fixture counting towards
the National League’s 8th round.
Dinamo’s Tunisian handballer Amine Bannour was the top scorer, with 8 goals
on his record sheet.
Also on
Wednesday, games were played counting towards the National League’s 18th
round. In the day’s derby, Dobrogea Sud secured a 25-24 win against Steaua
Bucharest and earned the lead position in the table, with 42 points. CSM Bucharest
are coming second with 40 points, and a game in hand.
The Romania goal-keeper
of Italian club Juventus Turin, Laurentiu Branescu, is on loan to Zalgiris
Vilnius, according to a posting by Lithuania’s vice champions cited by
Agerpress. After two seasons when he was on loan to Dinamo Bucharest, Branescu
returned to Turin in the summer of 2018, and the Italian club decided Branescu should
yet again be on loan.
In the first part of the competition season, Laurentiu
Branescu was on loan to Croatian team Gorica. Branescu will be 25 on March 30
and his contract with Juventus is due to expire in June 2020. However, Branescu
hasn’t yet been included in Juventus’ main lineup.
