Training sessions for Romanian football teams are in full swing these days. Title holders Viitorul Constanta grabbed a 2-1 defeat against FK Zira of Azerbaijan. Scoring for Viitorul were Alexandru Stoica and Vlad Morar. In all likelihood, FK Zira could be the challenger of Astra Giurgiu in the Europa League, if they defeat Luxemburg opponents Differdange, in the competitions first preliminary round.
Astra Giurgiu started their summer training session with a defeat. They were outclassed by the winner of the Kosovo championship FK Trepca, 4-2. As of this season, Astra will be coached by Eduard Iordanescu.
Just like Astra Giurgiu, Dinamo Bucharest have their training session in Slovenia. Cosmin Contras trainees were defeated in the first game by Croatian opponents NK Osijek, 4 -1.
We carry on with the latest news from the transfer market. FCSB, formerly known as Steaua Bucharest, have struck a deal with Viitorul Constanta for the transfer of Dragos Nedelcu. Champion team Viitorul will receive one and a half million euros, plus 20% from a prospective transfer of the footballer. According to ProSport, Nedelcus contract will include a release clause of 30 million euros.
CFR Cluj has recently purchased one of the best Romanian international footballers of the moment: midfielder Ovidiu Hoban. The last team Hoban played for was Israels Hapoel Beer Sheva, and was contract-free when he was signed up by CFR Cluj. Yet CFRs most notable purchase this season is manager Dan Petrescu, whose track record as a coach includes teams from Poland, Russia, China and the Arab countries. At the moment, Dan Petrescu is one of the most praiseworthy Romanian football managers.
