This weeks Champions League round has yet again offered interesting games to football fans, some of them involving international Romanian footballers. For instance, defender Cosmin Moti was used all throughout the game pitting his team, Ludogorets Razgrad against French giants PSG. We should note that the game was played on a stadium in Bulgarias capital, Sofia. Moti missed the opportunity to score from a penalty kick on 59 minutes, when PSG had a 2-1 lead. The next phase of the game ended with yet another goal scored by PSG, which actually sealed the fate of the match. Another Romanian, Claudiu Keseru, was on the pitch starting minute 88. It was also towards the final part of the match that yet another Romanian, Andrei Prepelita, played for his team, Rostov, in their game against the Dutch side PSV Eindhoven, with the former team holding Eindhoven to a 2-all draw.
It looks like Steaua Bucharest have made a great move in the Romanian transfer market. Steauas managing board have struck a deal with Astra Giurgiu and signed up Denis Alibec for 1.5 million Euro. However, it is not until this coming winter that the striker will play for Steaua. Alibec will earn 13,500 Euro per month during the first year, while the contract termination clause will stand at 20 million Euro.
Denis Alibec was born in 1991 and made his debut as a junior with Callatis Mangalia. At the age of 17 he was signed up by Farul from Constanta, making his League One debut with that team in October 2008. In 2009 Alibec signed a contract with Serie A-team Internazionale from Milan, but only played two matches with that team. Then he was on loan for the Belgian club Mechelen. Alibec also played for Viitorul Constanta and another Italian squad, Bologna. The striker returned to Romania in 2014, and was signed up by Astra Giurgiu. This year he won the Romanian League One championship with that team. In 2015 Alibec made his debut with the national squad, for which he has already played six games and scored one goal. Alibec is rated the best striker in League One at the moment.
