The situation will be placed under scrutiny in a meeting of the club’s managing board next week.
We recall that this past Monday in the 83rd minute of the match pitting Astra Giurgiu against FC Botosani, when Astra had a 2-nil lead, Leo Grozavu had Andrei Herghelegiu replace Golofca; the latter lost his temper took off his T-shirt and threw it to the ground. According to existing TV footage, Grozavu noticed the footballer’s gesture and hit Golofca in the face.
In a press release, the Romanian Football Federation announced that until this coming Friday, March 10th, it would convey an official position of the Professional Football League, the governing body for League One. If the official position is not made public, the Romanian Football Federation reserves the right to notify the Discipline Commission.
The Romanian Football Federation’s Discipline Commission has yet again imposed fines for Dinamo and Steaua football clubs. The sanction was enforced because of the firecrackers thrown by Dinamo fans in the last week’s second leg counting towards the League Cup semifinals. Dinamo will have to pay almost 5,000 Euros, for the behavior of its supporters while Steaua Bucharest also must pay over 3,000 Euros, in its capacity as organizing club.
