Romanian midfielder Lucian Sânmărtean, currently playing in Saudi Arabia, has secured qualification for his team, Al-Taawoun, in the quarterfinals of the King’s Cup. Sânmărtean scored the winning goal for Al-Taawoun, the team that has another Romanian at the helm, Costel Galca. Al-Taawoun outclassed Al-Raed, away from home, 1-nil, with Sânmărtean scoring on 87 minutes.
Dinamo Bucharest has signed up a new striker, Brazilian Rivaldinho, the son of former international footballer Rivaldo. On the pitch, Rivaldinho will be wearing T-shirt number 9. He was born on April 29, 1995, in Sao Paolo. The Brazilian began his professional footballer’s career with Mogi Mirim Esporte Clube in 2008, when his father was the club’s president. In 2015 Rivaldinho got transferred in Europe to Portugal’s first league team Boavista Porto. In 2016 Rivaldinho returned to Brazil, where he played for Piracicaba, Internacional and Paysandu. His contract with Dinamo is valid until June 1st 2020.
Dinamo has also signed up another footballer, an attacking midfielder, Cladiu Bumba, who signed a three-year contract with the club in Bucharest. Born on January 5th, 1994 in the northern Romanian town of Baia Mare, Claudiu Bumba made his debut with Atletic Satu Mare football club’s junior division. Then he played for FC Baia Mare, ASA Târgu Mureş and AS Rome. Bumba returned to ASA Târgu Mureş, and in 2015 he got transferred to Hapoel Tel Aviv. Claudiu Bumba’s record includes 57 matches played in League One and 10 goals scored, all for ASA Târgu Mureş. Claudiu Bumba made his debut with Romania’s national squad in 2012, in the friendly against Turkmenistan, a match Romania won 4-nil.
