In the 3rd round of the Champions League’s preliminaries, Ludogoreţ Razgrad will take on the Israeli team Hapoel Beer-Sheva, which defeated, in the second round, Hungary’s champions, Honved Budapest. The Bulgarian team runs as favorite. If they fail to advance to the Champions League’s groups, Ludogoreţ Razgrad might dismiss coach Gheorghi Dermengiev. In this case, Romanian Mircea Lucescu is the favorite coach to take over the Razgrad club.
The ProSport sports paper quotes the web page topsport.bg as saying that the Bulgarian team’s officials placed Mircea Lucescu first in the top of possible replacements for Dermengiev. After leaving Zenit Sankt Petersburg, Lucescu is now free of any commitment. The Turkish club Galatasaray is also interested in Mircea Lucescu, with whom they won the 2000 Europe’s Supercup, when the Turkish team defeated Real Madrid.
