Today’s football flash kicks off with news from international football as on Wednesday, English giants Manchester United won the Europa League. In the finals hosted by the Swedish capital Stockholm, Manchester United defeated Dutch challengers Ajax Amsterdam, 2-nil. Scoring for the winners were the French Paul Pogba on 18 minutes and Armenian Henrikh Mkhitaryan, three minutes into the second half.

We move on to domestic football, as fixtures were played, counting towards League One’s 12th round. On Tuesday, Gaz Metan Medias outclassed Concordia Chiajna 3-nil, while Pandurii Targu Jiu grabbed a 1-nil away win against Poli Timisoara. On Wednesday, FC Voluntari defeated ASA Targu Mures, 2-nil, also away from home. The leg’s last game is scheduled on Thursday, as FC Botosani are pitted against Poli Iasi.
Two legs ahead of the end of the football season, ASA Targu Mures are 8th-placed in group one. ASA’s bottom-of-the-table position reveals the fact that in theory, they cannot avoid relegation since they have only 13 points on their record sheet. Poli Timisoara and Concordia Chiajna are in the 6th and 7th positions, respectively, each with 23 points. After their Tuesday’s win in Timisoara, Pandurii are 5th-ranked in the standings, with 23 points.
Romanian footballer Claudiu Keseru has scored yet another goal for his team, Ludogoreţ, in a fixture counting towards the Cup of Bulgaria. However, the team from Razgrad could not a avoid the 1-2 defeat they sustained in the game against Botev Plovdid. In for his Dutch teammate Vura Misidjan, the Romanian striker was on the pitch from minute 55 and his goal was the 27th Keseru scored for Bulgaria’s champion team Ludogoret Razgrad. Keseru is also the most efficient scorer in Bulgaria’s first league championship.
