Two other games were played on Wednesday. FC Botosani secured a 3-nil home win against FC Voluntari, while Poli Iasi grabbed a 2-nil win against Gaz Metan Medias, away from home. ASA Targu Mures are 8th placed according to the play-out rankings, the bottom-of-the -table position, with a mere 10 points on their record sheet. Concordia Chiajna and Poli Timisoara, both with 14 points, are 6th and 7th-placed, respectively, and are having direct confrontation to avoid being placed on the second relegation position. In the play-offs on Wednesday, Dinamo Buchares has grabbed a 2-nil win over CFR Cluj. The game was hosted by the National Arena in Bucharest. It was Dinamo’s first play-off victory.
The two other play-off fixtures are scheduled on Thursday, as Viitorul Constanta are pitted against CSU Craiova, while FCSB take on Astra Giurgiu. Bucharest side FCSB previously known as Steaua Bucharest, has announced the purchase of two news footballers. CFR Cluj’s Ciprian Deac and Astra Giurgiu’s Junior Morais will be signed up by the Bucharest club, but only beginning this coming summer. However, the vice-champions might sell Denis Alibec and Ovidiu Popescu, for whom it appears there are consistent offers.
For the previous round’s fixture pitting FCSB against Dinamo, Celtic Glasgow scouts watched Popescu during the game. As for Denis Alibec, FCSB’s financier Gigi Becali refrained from giving any details about the club that might take an interest in Alibec, but said it was very big money at stake in the prospective transfer.
